Moldova and Montenegro have issued new citizenship by investment programmes

The governments of Moldova and Montenegro announced the launch of the new citizenship by investment programmes in July 2018 creating further possibilities for investors interesting in acquiring a European passport.

Montenegro has indicated that applications will be accepted from the 1st October 2018 and will be limited to 2,000 Non-EU applicants whilst Moldavian authorities stated that applications are to be received within three months.

The Moldavian programme is considerably cheaper than the Montenegrin programme, however, Montenegro has advanced its negotiations considerably with the European Union and are expected to be the next country to join making their passport more attractive.
